all I can say is there's apparently no cure for stupid. They seem to focus ONLY on new and unknown brands that paid to place absurdly high prices on their wares. That shopping option never worked and the items were EXCRUCIATINGLY overpriced for unknown brands. If a teenager can hack Twitterthen a media company should be able to create a useable website. Now it seems they're all over the place it's become a train wreck, the box and their mini box have ended, their old "text to buy" whatever their "must have" item was didn't work (my and my friends' texting for "yes" never went through.) They have struggling beauty brands and the website is filled with articles that are an unreadable mess. There was a box, there were interesting articles. It's as though since Group Nine Media bought it, it's gone to hell. It began with a fun idea that has spiraled downward into the debacle it is today. Popsugar was originally created by Lisa Sugar, a celeb gossip hobbyist and Brian Sugar, Lisa's hubby. You people do realize their "must have" products from their old box and talked about in their blog are there because brands paid to have them there, right? Apparently not. Popsugar is a media company that thrives only because of paid advertorials. You can rest assured the articles you are reading do not reflect the actual situation at hand. I tell everyone I know about Popsugar, their unacceptable journalism and conduct. It's obvious now at this point I'm not even going to get a response, just super disappointing.ĭealing with my sister in an abusive relationship has been hard enough for my family, and Popsugars dismissive and insensitive response in which they are siding with my sister's abuser is demoralizing at best. I know there's been a pandemic going on, but abuse is a serious issue and Popsugar has treated it as anything but. What's even more disgusting is that I originally let Popsugar know this over a year ago, in addition to providing them with screenshoted evidence of the abuse, and they have failed to follow up with me or look more into it. This relationship is incredibly volatile, toxic, and abusive. The regrettable relationship that Popsugar praises is an extremely abusive one that features screaming, name-calling, (suicide and violence) threats, intimidation, and commands for extreme isolation and control of the victim from friends and family. I know the truth because, unfortunately, for the last two years I've gotten to bear witness for the victim in this relationship - my sister, Hannah. In one of their articles, they praise a notorious abuser and her relationship as "everything" and "a fairytale" when this claim couldn't be further from the truth. It works by matching members’ unique profiles to the product samples that they have available.Don't be fooled - this company does not give a $#*! about domestic abuse and I have the experience to prove it.Įveryone should be aware that Popsugar is okay with featuring an article that has an abusive couple in it and why you should reconsider patroning this app, and moreover, the Popsugar collective.
